The thing I am most proud of is not FetLife itself but the people who call FetLife their home. You are a member of FetLife so you know what I am talking about. Maybe I am just biased, but I would say that FetLife has the best members of any BDSM & Fetish network out there. The community bloggers, event organizers, mentors, and overall just good people are active here on FetLife and hundreds more join everyday.
All of this is good for your brand because you have the opportunity to speak out to all these incredible people. Don't soil your brand by putting ads on sites that people just don't like.
Can we target our ads?
One of the most important things for me was to create an advertisement network that catered equally to both the big companies that are looking to go after a wide audience as well as the local mom & pop shops who are looking at building their brand locally (I guess in our line of work that would be Dom & sub or Master & slave shops?).
If, for example, you have a physical store or run events and you want to target your ads to only appear to kinksters in a specific geographic location; you can do that. This way, every single time your ad is viewed, it is viewed by exactly your audience so that you can get the most out of your advertising dollars.
What separates us from your other options?
Here is a list of some of the main differences:
- You speak directly to your audience: kinksters.
- Your ads can be targeted by location (country/state/province) and gender. Or not targeted at all!
- With each ad you can also include up to three lines of text describing your product.
- You will not be competing with 10+ other ads on any give page. We display a maximum of 3 ads per page.
- No click-fraud! We only record one click per ad buy per user… no matter how many times a user clicks on an ad.
- You associate yourself with a site that you yourself like.
How much does it cost to advertise on FetLife?
We have implemented a pay per unique click-through model which maximizes your advertising dollar. Instead of paying by the impression, or page view, you will now only pay per unique person who visits your site.
The following is our cost structure:

As you can see, you get the best value when you buy in bulk, but that's true in pretty much every instance - it's like going to the warehouse instead of the corner market.
There is a minimum order of $50 and you get a $10 credit on your first order if you have a FetLife Banner on your site.

Our registrations were slow in coming and event attendance has been down all over the USA due to the poor economy. We decided to place an ad for Kinky Kollege on FetLife and it far surpassed our hopes and expectations in driving kinky folks to the Kinky Kollege website.

- Q. Can anyone advertise on FetLife?
No. It has to pass the John and friends test. Would I buy what you are selling? If not we may have a problem.
- Q. Do we do banner or link exchanges?
We don't do banner exchanges but in exchange for placing a FetLife Banner on your site we will give you a credit of $10 on your first order. I would call that good Karma, wouldn't you?
- Q. Can you help me make a 120x90 banner?
Absolutely! If you can not find a designer to help you out we have partnered with a graphic designer who will work with you one-on-one to get your artwork done quickly. The fee for this additional service is $50 (USD).
- Q. How do you handle Click-Fraud?
Some sites allow a user to click on an ad as many times as they want and count each time as a click-through or allow a person to click up to five times. We only record the first click-through per ad buy. So if a user clicks an ad three times you are only dinged once. We think that is great for you. What do you think?
