At FetLife we're looking for caretakers to help us better serve the community.
The Job
As a caretaker, you will be responsible for reviewing and acting on reports on subjects that include but are not limited to: questionable content, interpersonal issues, copyright, and potential scammers.
As a caretaker, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and handling reports in a consistent and timely manner
- Documenting the rationale behind your decisions
- Working with your teammates to resolve more challenging cases
- Suggesting improvements to our guidelines and processes
- Working as a team to help each other grow and learn
Available Shifts
The following shifts are currently available:
- Shift #1: Sun-Thu: 11 AM - 8 PM EST
- Shift #2: Fri-Sat: 11 AM - 8 PM EST & Sun-Mon: 12 PM - 9 PM EST
- Shift #3: Fri-Sat: 8 PM - 5 AM EST & Sun-Mon: 8 PM - 1 AM EST
About you
We need you to have:
- Passion for the kink community
- Been a member of Fetlife and / or the community for 6+ months
- Strong familiarity with FetLife and how the site works
- Clear, concise, and effective written (English) communication skills
- Know your way around the computer e.g. knowing keyboard shortcuts
- A place you can work without any prying eyes being able to see over your shoulder
- A computer with a webcam that supports a modern browser and loads pages efficiently
- Fast and stable access to the internet
It is a bonus if you have experience:
- Working remotely
- Moderating an online community i.e., forum, group, community, etc.
- Doing email support and handling a large volume of tickets a day
- Being able to learn new computer programs in a timely manner
- Maintaining technical documents and/or guidelines
- Speaking, reading, and writing fluently in a language other than English

Q. Will I be an official employee of BitLove HQ?These are contractor positions - you will be responsible for filing your own taxes.
Q. Can I do this anonymously?We do not share with the community which caretaker has handled which case. But, you will be listed as a Caretaker both on your profile and on our team page and you will need to have a face photo as your profile picture.
Q. Do I have to do cases involving my friends?A caretaker is not allowed to handle any case where any type of bias might exist.
Q. Can I do this from my cellphone?No, sorry. When working, you need to be working from a computer.
Q. Can I do this from a couple's or shared profile?No. As a caretaker, nobody else but you should have access to your account.
Q. What's the starting rate?Caretakers start at the $18.23 USD per hour and are paid bi-weekly as contractors.
Q: Do caretakers get time off on national or federal holidays (I.e. Christmas day)?FetLife is active #24/7/365! So, we need to have at least one caretaker working every hour of the day, every day. Caretakers are therefore generally required to work national or federal holidays too.
