Description
Peer Rope Melbourne is starting a new Beginner 2 course for July 2026!
It will run for four weeks, on Thursday nights from July 9th, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
This course is designed for people who already have basic shibari skills. It is important to have done the beginner PRM course in the past or one of the intensive or have already shibari knowledge from other rope schools. You need to know at least how to perform well a single column tie, and half hitch and have good knowledge of tensions and frictions.
During the course, you will learn different chest harnesses, hands-free and hands in front, leg ties, different rope play positions, and combinations of previous ties learnt in Beginner 1 (don't worry if you don't remember all the ties or if you come from a different rope school, we will review everything at the beginning of each class to be sure everyone is at the same skill level before to progress into something more complicate). Also, we will start to play with movements, positions and connections between the rigger and the bunny. Shibari is not only knots and ties.

General admission $120 per person, for all four classes.
This month your shibari instructor is Jess (@starlove) and Magnus!
Jess will be facilitating the first two classes and Magnus will be facilitating the last two.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):
Q. What should I wear?
A. We suggest you wear something comfortable, ensuring ease of movement. For anyone wearing a bra, we recommend wearing one without the metal wire (like a sports bra). It could be painful if we practice a chest harness and you are the model.
Q: Do I need to bring my own ropes?
A: No, you don't need to bring your own ropes. However at this level, it would be a consideration to begin looking at purchasing your own rope kits. A rope kit at this level would look like 3 hanks of rope and safety shears. For rope supplies please refer to https://www.kinkdojo.com/shop
Q. Do I need a partner for these classes?
A. No, a partner is not required for the Beginner 2 classes, and solo attendees are more than welcome. However, the last class of this course will begin to teach chest harnesses which will require a model. Even if there are people in the course to practice with, this can not be guaranteed nor assumed. Connecting with your peers and building community ties, to assist your rope journey and continued practice is something we can support you with.
Q. What if I miss one of the classes?
A. If you know you will miss a class, we recommend you join the next scheduled class. If you miss one of the classes, then don't worry. Our teachers always review the main ties, taught in the previous session, at the beginning of each class, ensuring you stay on track with the material.
Q. I just ended my Beginner 1 course, but I don't feel ready for Beginner 2. What are my options?
A. No worries! Feel free to rejoin Beginner 1 next month or book the next intensive beginner class to keep practising the B1 level. You may also like to consider booking in a private class with one of our exceptional facilitators to fast track your learning goals.
Each rotation of class levels is led by one of our experienced teachers, and each of them features a unique teaching style and may introduce additional ties and styles, providing you with a well-rounded learning experience. So you will always be learning something new.
Q. Can I get a refund if I miss a class or the entire course?
A. Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable however, they can be transferred to another person (not event) for the same event.
