Description
If rope has sometimes felt boring or monotonous, this class is for you! We'll talk about when to pause versus speed up, creating space for moments of play and surprise, and work on our timing. In this class we offer several hands-on exercises designed to help us expand our toolboxes and the variety of scenes available to us. We find the element of surprise is one of our most powerful and exciting scene-building tools.
Prerequisites: this is an all levels class. Total beginners can take this class. It is aimed at intermediate students. Advanced students can also benefit.
About the presenters:
Juno Sloane (Dancehalldyke, she/they) is a switch who likes to play with power dynamics, emotional vulnerability, and darker themes from both sides of the rope. In her vanilla life, she is a college professor, and has been teaching math and physics for 15 years. She is a student of Barkas, although she has many other influences and instructors.
