Description

Instructors: Bottoming Team (Annie, Amanda, Cedar, Lily, & Stitch)

Prerequisites: None

Self-Tie Friendly: Yes

*Rope is not required for this class; it will be discussion-based. However, self-tiers are welcome to bring their own rope if they wish to practice something in the second half of the class, instead of getting tied by one of our experienced Riggers.

Our goal for this class is to help build soft skills by discussing best practices, ways to build confidence, communication skills, and ensuring that you have a comprehensive understanding of basic rope safety. Consider why you want to bottom; we will discuss different types of bottoming.

Topics in the first part of class will include: What is a Bottom, Consent and Negotiations, What is a Rigger, Expectations in Rope, and Safety.

There will be a half-hour break, so please bring snacks or a light lunch.

In the second part of this class, you will practice some of these skills and get a chance to experience the feeling of having a harness placed on you by one of Birdhaus’ experienced team of Riggers. If you wish to get tied, we recommend wearing workout clothes.

All levels of experience are welcome!
