Sunday August 30th – Basic Bedroom Bondage – Full Day – 10am-4pm, taught by Ikeren-Fox
Rope can be fun and sexy, but where do you start? On Instagram and Fetlife it's all elaborate ties from Shibari and Kinbaku masters with powerful and beautiful imagery --- where is your average person tying their partner to the bed for some fun time?
That's what this class is. The class is for beginners to rope to have fun and find ways that they can
safely engage with their partners even while knowing very little rope. This class requires partners; feel free to message me if you're seeking to be paired up. This class is fully clothed, and best tied over reasonably tight clothing; tights and a t-shirt, shorts and a t-shirt, jeans and a t-shirt.

The class will be Sunday August 30th, 2026, from 10am-4pm, with a 1 hour lunch break (not provided, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby and you're welcome to bring food as well) around 1pm. If that sounds like too much time and commitment, we're open to messages from folxs who just want to come for the first half of the class.
These classes are structured classes, and generally follow the pattern of talk a bit about safety or a tie, demo the tie or practice technique, and then everyone practice the tie or practice technique along. The SPCfA is a high agency space – we want every participant to do what feels most comfortable for them at all times, which includes sitting out exercises, leaving for fresh air, getting a drink, eating a snack, napping on the couch, or modifying exercises to feel more comfortable. Just because we demo and teach something doesn't mean it's obligated to become your favourite tie, or something you like at all.
This class will cover the following material, which you are welcome to pre-review.
Single Column on a Sommerville Bowline
Single Column on a Boola-Boola
And possibly 3-4 other exercises that I don't have video for, if we have time for it.
Pre-requisites: No Pre-requisites required. This class is best attended with a partner you have connection and a willingness to explore closely with; feel free to message if you're seeking a pair up.
Amount of Rope required: one to four lengths of rope, 10-20 feet long, and three to four lengths of rope, 20-40 feet long, rope cutters, rope available for use.

Space Notes
The SPCfA is a basement dungeon space with low ceiling height (6ft4") and a drop beam at 5ft6". There are 10 lights on dimmers. There are 20 hard points. Classes are sometimes cozy, depending on attendance numbers. There is a small, awkward washroom, or a steep, awkward flight of stairs with bad ceiling clearance to a main floor washroom. There are two air filtration units which produce full air change in the unit within about 15 minutes. Seating is mostly on the floor, though we can get chairs upon request.
Accessibility is a complex subject, with conflicting and changing accessibility needs. If you ever have an accessibility need of any sort and wish to come to our space, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Territory acknowledgement
