Rope Jam in Solidarity with @ShibariTurk
A gathering for fundraising and awareness
Athens, Attica, Greece

Description
Our friends at ShibariTurk have spent years creating space for kink positivity, queer visibility, polyamory education, art, consent and community in Turkey — often under conditions far more difficult than many of us experience here.
Today, members of their community are facing an increasingly severe legal situation.
Following recent investigations and raids, several people connected to ShibariTurk have been placed under house arrest and travel bans, while prosecutors continue to seek their imprisonment.
For @Lenasstory, this has already meant losing a new job she had only just begun.
And @Jjanet is currently facing separate legal proceedings in a different city and her future is uncertain.
Beyond the legal consequences, these measures carry a very real financial, professional and emotional cost.
So this Rope Jam will be a little different.
We are coming together to tie, connect and spend time as usual — but also to stand beside people who have spent years doing important work for kink, queer and alternative communities under an increasingly hostile environment.
Sunday, September 20
19:30–22:30
📍 Mezonos 66, Athens
2nd floor

You can donate the suggested amount or choose any amount you wish.
100% of the money collected from the event will be transferred to our friends in Turkey, with the aim of supporting Lena and Janet through the financial consequences of what they are currently facing.
Donations are open to everyone
Every contribution matters.
But this gathering is not only a fundraiser.
It is also about visibility and awareness.
Repression becomes easier when the people affected by it are isolated or invisible.
We want our friends to know that what is happening to them is being seen.
You do not need to know them personally to come.
You do not need to make a political statement.
Come tie. Come watch. Come meet people. Come share space.
And, simply by being there, help us send a message to our neighbours:
You are not alone.
