Class Description
It’s easy to get frustrated when our desires don’t align with our physical or mental capacity. Submissives may long to endure more pain or provide specific acts of service, dominants may want to top at a certain intensity level or engage in specific forms of control – but chronic illness, pain, disability, fatigue, neurodivergence, trauma responses, and mental health challenges can get in the way. We’ll explore the grief, shame, and vulnerability that arises when this happens, and discuss practical adaptations, communication strategies, and creative renegotiation. Attendees will examine internalized ableism and self-induced pressure to “perform,” and leave with tools to honor ourselves and our partners exactly as we are.
Presenter Bio
Meredith has been doing kinky stuff for over 20 years. She identifies as queer, a masochist, an s-type, Leather, and an educator. She has been on staff for Black Rose since 2015 and is currently the director of the BR Gateway program.
Please note that this is an educational event, NOT a play party or a time/place to ask others for play. Anyone trying to do a scene (this excludes labbing during class) or soliciting others for play will be asked to leave.

Bring a brown bag from home or your favorite takeout to the Crucible and get to know people before class. Come enjoy food, fun discussions, and meet like-minded folks.
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT AND WILL NOT BE STREAMED. YOU MUST ATTEND IN PERSON.
To minimize disruption, no one will be admitted to this event after 8:30 pm
- All ticket sales are at the door.
- Tickets are $5 for Black Rose Members and Members of Reciprocal Groups with their Membership Card and $10 for non-members.
