Description
This in-person & online educational class is open to all ages!
Workshop Description:
Self harm is a taboo we don’t talk about. For people in the kink world, fears can show up regarding if they are pushing themselves into self-harm territory rather than play and self-love. This workshop explores how we can work with self-harming parts of ourselves—often taught to be suppressed and not named—in a compassionate healing way. No matter if the self harm is showing up more subtly like the trickle of an old trauma message or if it’s an urge to do self harm behavior, these parts can be supported for healing. Led by a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, participants will unpack what the research shows about self harm during sex/kink, how exploring our inner worlds can work with traumatized parts, and how doing so can create confidence around experiencing healing in kink rather than recreating harmful patterns
