Description

For the first time the EURIX team is organizing a

EURIX WINTER RETREAT

a 6 day intense winter gathering of European Riggers & Models.

January 24 – 31, 2027  (arrival sunday / departure sunday)

The location, Spitzmühle at Bötzsee,  in the country side close to Berlin, offers a  brand new spacious studio. It is a well- designed space, very suitable for rope bondage, featuring a large glass front opening to the garden and the lake. While ice and snow will reign outside, we will keep it warm and cosy in there. A sauna and a hot tub will add heat and help relaxation. For hard core people, ice-bathing in the morning is an option!

The program is similair to our other EURIX events, we will have 6 hours of classes each day, presented by six experienced teachers, followed by  an extensive 4-hour-jam every evening. As this is the first time in a new place, we prepared a program focussing on facilitators from the Berlin commnunity:

 Presenters 2027:

Alexander MA & Natasha / Discover Kinbaku (Berlin)____ Felix Ruckert / IKSK (Berlin) ____Sapieha & Apnoe / Atelier AEOS (Dresden / Berlin)____ Ztella / Daruma (Berlin)____

Natasha NawaTaNeko and Alexander MA are drawn to the Semenawa of Akira Naka, not only for its technical sophistication but also for its aesthetics and expression. They teach Kinbaku as an embodied ritual with an extraordinary capacity to create intimacy, presence and authentic human connection. Ztella is a shibari artist and educator, with a practice rooted in engineering, exploring and optimizing rope. Influenced by diverse teachers and styles and continually learning through travel and teaching internationally, Ztella explores rope as a way to expand creativity and adaptability across different bodies, skills and dynamics. Sapieha and Noemi bring back the kink into rope bondage, they specialize in the playful, the emotional and sensual aspects of the practice. As dedicated switches they are very experienced on both sides of the rope. Felix Ruckert, with his background in dance, will focus on somatic practices, technical creativity and compositional skills.

The retreat is designed for advanced and intermediate riggers & models only and will offer a deep dive into very different approaches to rope bondage. It will provide an opportunity to compare and combine tools and techniques, both traditional and contemporary, while encouraging experimentation and play. In addition to the rope practices there will be a Yoga/Feldenkrais class every morning to provide an opportunity for physical & emotional regulation and reset. The retreat character with overnight stay and collective vegetarian / vegan meals, prepared by our extremely talented chef Sophie, will also give you plenty of time and opportunity to connect with old friends and new people. It will be a feast!

EURIX  – The concept

There is a lot of creative and innovative rope bondage in Europe today. Many individuals are developing their own approaches. A sort of emancipation from the japanese masters is happening, not a rebellion or opposition, just people recognizing the importance of gaining autonomity in their artistic process.

EURIX wishes to provide a platform for these individuals and to develop the technical, artistic and philosophical aspects of the practice, by confronting traditional japanese Shibari with our European cultural heritage. Western techniques and skills, ideas from art, science, psychology& medicine, from bodywork& performance, from BDSM & Sex-Positive Culture- all those things might be offered at EURIX, in order to give new impulses to the practice.

EURIX is also a sociography, an experiment that proposes a sex-positive, kink-friendly space, where attentiveness and empathy, consent, gender equality, diversity and inclusion, ecological and political awareness are highly valued and put into practice. EURIX wishes to provide a space where clear, honest and constructive communication is a permanent collective effort.

EURIX brings experienced European Riggers and Models together, for a week of exchange and research, three times a year. There are invited „regular presenters“  and “newcomers” who share their work on a voluntary base: riggers and models who have developed a personal style in the frame of or beyond japanese tradition, who are interested to learn and exchange with others and who wish to experiment with less hierarchical and dogmatic teaching structures.

These “presenters” are joined by a larger group of „students“, intermediate and advanced riggers interested to learn from the professionals present and paying a modest fee in order to finance the event. Also “students” may propose workshops or perform during the week.

The schedule is open. Every day a new plan is established, with different workshops, research groups, talks etc. Up to four workshops run simultaneously, thus a wide range of topics and issues is covered. The content of each event is designed according to the interests and needs of the participants rather then following a preconceived didactic concept or method. It is different every time.
