Animal Cruelty
FetLife exists to give kinksters a space to have fun, connect, explore, and express themselves freely. Maintaining that space means keeping harmful content off of FetLife, including content of animals being harmed. We love animals, and any content that depicts or promotes animal cruelty has absolutely no place here.
How we define Animal Cruelty
Animal cruelty includes any content that depicts or promotes harming a non-human animal for pleasure or sexual gratification. It also includes attempting to have sex with or engaging in sex acts with a live or dead non-human animal.
What is in Violation of this Policy
We do not allow any content that depicts or promotes animal cruelty. This includes:
- Posting, sharing a direct link to, or asking for a direct link to a photo or video of any form of actual animal cruelty
- Posting, sharing a direct link to, or asking for a direct link to a writing, drawing, illustration, or CGI that depicts animal cruelty
- Promoting, suggesting, discussing, planning, admitting to participation in, interest in, or seeking others who are into any form of animal cruelty
- Starting a group devoted to any form of animal cruelty
- Potential dog whistle for any form of animal cruelty
In the following cases, we only take action if the intention is to promote actual animal cruelty:
- Body writing for the purpose of degradation
- Lying or cuddling naked or half-naked with their animal
- Artistic photos, videos, or pictures that involve animals
- Intellectual debates and discussions
- Jokes, satire, euphemisms
What happens if someone violates this policy?
Depending on the severity, the person can get either a warning, a time-out, or have their account permanently deleted.
For example, posting actual animal cruelty results in an instant 3-day timeout. Repeated violations will double the timeout length and can result in permanent account removal.
In the case where someone joins FetLife and their profile is solely focused on animal cruelty, their account will be permanently deleted.
Who can report a potential violation of this policy?
Anyone who comes across content they believe might fall under this policy.
