How do I upload pictures from secure folder on Samsung?

Samsung blocks non-Samsung apps from accessing photos stored in "Secure Folder". That means your pictures in Secure Folder won’t show up in the upload picker, and you can’t select them directly unless you're using the Samsung Internet Browser. This is a Samsung security restriction, so it's unfortunately not something we can control on our side.

Here are two workarounds:

Option 1: Use Samsung Internet inside Secure Folder

  1. Open Secure Folder
  2. Install or open Samsung Internet inside Secure Folder
  3. Log in to FetLife through that browser
  4. Upload your photos normally
  5. Pictures will now appear

This works because Samsung Internet is the only browser Samsung allows to access files inside Secure Folder.

Option 2: Temporarily move the photos out of Secure Folder

  1. Go to Secure Folder > My Files
  2. Long-press the picture(s)
  3. Tap "Move out of Secure Folder"
  4. Choose a regular folder (e.g. Gallery, Downloads)
  5. Go back to FetLife in the browser you use and upload normally

Note: Once moved out, your pictures become visible to all apps again, so make sure to move them back to Secure Folder once they are uploaded to FetLife.
