On July 25th, 2025, the UK Online Safety Act goes into effect. As part of the act, all websites are required to make sure that anyone in the UK who tries to access adult content is 18 or older.

As part of this act, you will need to verify you are of age if:

• Your profile location is set to the UK, or
• You’re currently accessing FetLife from a UK ISP or mobile network

You can easily age verify using one of the following methods:

• Verify your Profile
• Use a UK Mobile Network
• Support FetLife Using a Credit Card

If you’ve already done any of these in the past, or if your account is older than 5 years, you will be automatically verified and no further action is needed.

We know this may be a bit of an inconvenience but it’s a requirement under the UK Online Safety Act.

This is slowly being rolled out and will be completely released to the community in the upcoming days.
