About The Workshop
Practical tools for jealousy, insecurity and comparison in relationships
Whether you're monogamous, polyamorous, somewhere in between or still figuring it out, chances are you've experienced jealousy.
Jealousy is one of the most universal human emotions, and one we can be surprisingly reluctant to admit to. It can show up as insecurity, comparison, fear of being replaced, anxiety about change or a need for reassurance. And while jealousy can feel uncomfortable, experiencing it doesn't necessarily mean that something is wrong with you or your relationship.
In this practical 2.5-hour workshop, certified sexologist and ENM educator James will help us take the shame out of jealousy and look at what's actually happening underneath it.
Rather than trying to simply "get rid of" jealousy, you'll learn how to recognise it, understand what it may be communicating and develop practical ways to respond when it appears.
Designed for all relationship structures, this isn't just an ENM workshop. The tools explored are equally relevant to monogamous, open, polyamorous and other relationships.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Together we'll explore:
- What jealousy actually is, and why we experience it
- The difference between jealousy and envy
- Why jealousy isn't the same for everyone
- The ten "Jealous Characters" and how they can show up
- Identifying the fears, needs and insecurities underneath jealousy
- How to communicate jealousy without blame or control
- James's five-step process for navigating jealousy
- Practical strategies for managing jealousy when it arises
- How jealousy can become an opportunity for greater self-awareness, communication and growth
- Take-home tools you can continue using after the workshop
You don't need to be in a relationship to attend, and you certainly don't need to be non-monogamous. Come solo, with a partner, a lover, a friend, or simply because you'd like to understand yourself a little better.
Remember to be kind and respect the privacy of others.
The workshop goes for max 2.5 hours, coffee, tea and CAKE are provided.
