Rigger
Usually refers to a person who practices the art of bondage.
The origin of the term rigger is rooted in sailing, vertical transport industry and entertainment where these professions are commonly responsible for lifting of objects and securing objects at height. Hence the connection that people commonly have with suspension bondage. These professions also make for a stronger connection with rope. However both suspension and rope are not required parts of what a rigger does.
Besides rope a rigger can also use chains, belts, foil or other materials to "bind" a person in a restraining way and potentially suspend them with these or a combination of materials.
