Inflatable Sleep Sack
An inflatable sleep sack is a piece of equipment similar in shape to a mummy style sleeping bag but made from stretchy latex. A person slides into the sleep sack then the bag is inflated around them using a hand or electric pump to fill it with air. As the sleep sack inflates, the material presses evenly against the person’s whole body. The provides a feeling of compression similar to being bound tightly. Movement is restricted, but normal breathing is still possible, as most sleep sacks have an opening for the whole head or just the face to be exposed. Unlike compression clothing that stretches to squeeze the user, this device uses trapped air pressure to hold its shape and fit around the body.
