Polar Bear
A polar bear is usually an older, typically gay or bisexual man in the bear community who has gray or white hair, often combined with a larger build, facial hair, and a hairy body.
Polar bears are part of the broader bear subculture, which celebrates larger, hairier, and often more mature masculine bodies. The name refers to their gray or white hair, distinguishing them from younger bears and cubs.
Although Polar Bears are generally older, age isn't a strict requirement. Someone with predominantly gray or white hair may identify as a polar bear regardless of their age.
The term describes physical appearance and community identity rather than sexual preferences or behavior. A polar bear may be dominant, submissive, or a switch, and the label doesn't necessarily imply an interest in BDSM.
