Hard Limits

Hard limits are non negotiable boundaries set by a BDSM practitioner. Although this can include certain toys and environments, it most frequently refers to specific types of play and the conditions under which scenes are performed. All reasons for setting hard limits are legitimate and must be respected - failure to do so is a violation of consent. Reasons for setting hard limits may include, but are not limited to, personal disdain and responding to past traumas. Like soft limits, hard limits should be discussed during negotiations.
