Communion Dress
A communion dress in kink language refers to a style of white formal dress worn by adult participants in BDSM or fetish play. The garment itself is visually similar to the traditional Catholic First Communion dress, but within kink settings it is worn exclusively by consenting adults and used as part of fantasy, costume, protocol, humiliation, sissification, gender exploration, or religious roleplay. Communion dresses are elaborate, and typically made of satin, lace, tulle, or organza. They are often paired with gloves, veils, or delicate hosiery.
In BDSM contexts, the appeal usually comes from:
- Feminization/sissification aesthetics.
- Ritual, purity, or ceremony themes.
- Power play involving authority roles (priest, nun, confessor, disciplinarian).
- Lace, satin, tights, gloves, mary-jane shoes, veils as textile or fetish objects.
- The contrast between innocent styling and sexual adult context.
