Rigid Fiddle
A posture device that connects the neck and wrists similar to a Pillory but more mobile. The recipient's hands are locked into cuffs connected to a short bar that connects to a collar worn around the neck. This is uncomfortable and makes the recipient hold up their arms or bend their necks down to try and get into a comfortable position. The wrists can be placed next to one another, but in some versions are placed over one another in-line with the neck hole. Commonly made out of solid metal, but also sometimes executed in plastic or wood, the device is often locked with a padlock.
Origin
The modern variant has a similar design as devices made in the middle ages called Shrew's fiddle that was used in the middle ages.
