Syphilis

A common and fast spreading sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria. It can affect anyone who is sexually active and is spread through anal, oral or vaginal sex.

Infection rates for syphilis have been increasing among men who sleep with other men in recent years. This could be due to the increased risk of exposure to bodily fluids from anal sex but also could be due to an increase in the number of men looking after their sexual health by getting tested.
