Spinner
Spinner is a slang term for a very petite or small-framed woman, particularly in a sexual context. It suggests that the person is small and lightweight enough to be easily lifted, moved, or repositioned during sex.
The term comes from the idea that a particularly petite woman could be physically spun around while sitting on a partner's erect penis. (Although this is more of an exaggerated image than actual sexual practice.) It is sometimes also used to refer to a stripper, typically a petite one.
The word also has other unrelated slang meanings, including someone behaving erratically while intoxicated by methamphetamine.
Origins of the Term Spinner
Spinner as a sexual term is documented in online slang dictionaries as early as 2004, including a July 28 submission to Urban Dictionary describing a petite woman who can easily be physically maneuvered. An April 2004 submission also uses the term.
In the 2007 novel "The Admiral's Son," author Hank Miller describes a petite woman as a spinner, explaining that the term refers to someone small enough to be physically rotated during sex.
The term also appears in a 2009 study published in the "Journal of Contemporary Ethnography." Researchers Kristie R. Blevins and Thomas J. Holt examined online discussions among sex buyers, including posts from 2005. They documented spinner being used to describe a petite woman weighing approximately 100 pounds as a spinner.
Although its exact origins are unknown, these examples establish that spinner was already circulating as sexual slang by the mid-2000s.
