Cratolagnia
Cratolagnia refers to sexual arousal or gratification derived from displays of physical strength or feats of strength. Unlike sthenolagnia, which focuses on muscles or muscular physiques, cratolagnia centers on demonstrations of physical power, regardless of whether the person is especially muscular.
In BDSM and kink contexts, cratolagnia may manifest as attraction to physically strong partners, arousal from watching feats of strength, or enjoyment of being physically overpowered or restrained by a stronger partner. The focus is on the partner's physical capabilities and strength rather than their muscular appearance alone.
Origins of the Term
Cratolagnia comes from Greek, where "kratos" means strength or power, and "lagneia" means "lust for." Like many terms defining fetish interests, cratolagnia may have emerged from the late 19th- and early 20th-century field of sexology. But its origins are unclear.
