Shoe Fetish

A shoe fetish, also known as retifism, (after French writer Nicolas-Edme Rétif) is a type of fetish where a person experiences sexual arousal from shoes. This can include wearing shoes, watching others wear specific shoes, smelling or licking shoes, and D/s dynamics like worshipping a Dominant's shoes.

The shoe types most often seen in shoe fetishism are high heels, leather boots, and sneakers, although any shoes can be fetishized.

Why People Are Into It

Shoes can be symbolic. For example, high heels often stand for power, elegance, or status. Some people are often into the scent and texture of shoes. This is also how a shoe fetish overlaps with other fetishes like a leather fetish or foot fetish. Shoes are also involved in D/s dynamics and role play that people enjoy, like shoe worship, trampling, and boot licking.
