Frotting
Frotting, also known as frot, refers to non-penetrative, genital-to-genital contact, typically between two people with penises. This act focuses on mutual stimulation through friction, often referred to as "penis-to-penis rubbing," and is considered a form of outercourse. Frotting can be a safer sex alternative to penetrative sex. Frotting is sometimes considered distinct from "frottage," which may be considered a broader term that includes any kind of genital rubbing, not just penis-to-penis.
Frotting is extremely common. Many people have likely practiced it without knowing it has a name! It is often done fully or partially dressed, and therefore provides pleasure and physical intimacy. Because it is non-penetrative, it is also poses a low risk of STI transmission.
Some people using frotting as foreplay, while for others it's the main event. Try experimenting with different positions. And, if you're going without clothes, consider some lube to reduce friction.
