Finmasexual
Finmasexual is a sexual orientation describing attraction exclusively to feminine, androgynous, or otherwise gender-nonconforming men. This attraction may also include masculine-aligned nonbinary people who present femininely.
Finmasexual people are attracted to men who are feminine in their appearance, expression, or other characteristics, rather than men who are masculine. Unlike finsexual people, whose attraction can include people of any gender, finmasexual people are not attracted to women or nonbinary people, even if they are feminine.
Origins of the Term Finmasexual
The term combines "finsexual," meaning attraction to femininity regardless of gender, and "masexual," meaning attraction to men.
Finmasexual was coined on August 25, 2020, by Tumblr user @gendertherapist, on a blog dedicated to LGBTQ+ and MOGAI identities.
The creator introduced finmasexual alongside two related orientations: minwomasexual, describing attraction to masculine or gender-nonconforming women, and GNCsexual, describing attraction to gender-nonconforming people more broadly.
Finmasexual is one of many microlabels that emerged within online LGBTQ+ communities to describe patterns of attraction not fully captured by broader sexual orientation terms.
