Masexual
Masexual is a sexual orientation describing attraction to men, regardless of the gender of the person experiencing the attraction. Some definitions also include attraction to masculine-aligned nonbinary people or masculine genders.
Unlike terms such as gay or straight, which describe attraction in relation to a person's own gender, masexual simply identifies the gender someone is attracted to. It can be used by people of any gender, either alongside or instead of other sexual orientation labels.
Masexual is closely related to androsexual, although androsexual is sometimes used more broadly to include attraction to masculinity regardless of gender. Masexual generally emphasizes attraction to men rather than masculine presentation alone.
Origins of the Term Masexual
The term masexual combines "ma" derived from "man," with the suffix "sexual," referring to sexual attraction.
The term is generally credited to Tumblr user @pastelmemer (later @pastelroswell), who documented masexual and its pride flag by July 1, 2016. It appeared alongside related terms such as maromantic, describing romantic attraction to men, and womasexual, describing attraction to women.
