Fictosexual
Fictosexual is an identity for someone who is attracted to fictional characters, rather than or in addition to real-life people. This can include characters from anime, comics, novels, games, or original fictional worlds. Fictosexuality can be a core identity or simply part of someone's erotic imagination. This is most common in fandom and kink communities where fantasy and roleplay are integral.
Fictosexuals don’t just “like characters." They may build entire internal relationships with them, navigating desire, intimacy, identity, and safety within fictional realms. For some, these characters offer something that real people cannot: controlled intimacy, safety, consistency, or affirmation of self. That doesn’t make the love or arousal less real, only different.
Fictosexuality may co-exist with neurodivergence, ace-spectrum identities, and gender exploration.
