Aegosexual
Aegosexual, sometimes referred to as anegosexual (and historically known as autochorissexual) is an asexual orientation. People who are aegosexual experience a disconnect between themselves and the person(s) that arouse them. Aegosexuals may masturbate, have sexual fantasies or enjoy sexual content (e.g: porn, erotica etc) but they generally feel little to no sexual attraction and typically do not desire sexual activities with other people.
Origins of the Term
The term "aego" comes from the Latin ego "self" with the prefix a- meaning "without". This communicates that those using this sub-group of asexuality may find the concept of many sexual activities and ideas appealing, but they have little or no desire to personally partake in them.
Others say there is a deeper, community-rooted origin to this term, and that it was developed in online ace/aro communities (mainly on AVEN and Tumblr) as a shorthand for autochorissexuality. This long and clunky term was coined by psychologist Anthony Bogaert, combining Greek auto (“self”) with "choris" (“separate”), to mean “sexuality without identity.” Over time, communities seeking a less clinical or pathologizing label began using aegosexual (and by extension, aegoromantic) as shorthand or “reclaimed” versions of autochorissexual.
