Placiosexual
A placiosexual person is someone who enjoys performing sexual acts on others but has no desire for sexual acts to be performed on them. The term is often used as a microlabel within the asexual and merosexual spectrums, though people who identify as placiosexual may have a wide range of experiences with attraction and sexuality.
A placiosexual person does not simply prefer being the giving partner. Some placiosexual people are indifferent to receiving sexual attention, while others may feel uncomfortable with or even repulsed by the idea of sexual acts being performed on them. This can occur for any reason, including dysphoria or other discomfort with their body.
Placiosexual is the opposite of accipiosexual.
Origins of the Term
The name placiosexual likely derives from the Latin word "placere," meaning "to please."
The term appears to have emerged in the mid-2010s. Google Search data shows it started being searched in 2015, and that interest around the term has grown since that time. Searches of the term on Reddit, Tumblr, and FetLife suggest the term started being used more commonly in the early 2020s. The first reference to the term on FetLife was in 2015.
Like many asexual-spectrum microlabels, placiosexual developed as part of a broader effort to create language for experiences that were not adequately described by existing sexuality terms.
