Mutosexual describes someone whose sexual attraction changes over time or in response to different situations. A mutosexual person may be attracted to different genders at different times, or find that their orientation shifts depending on context, mood, environment, or relationship dynamics.
Origins of the Term
Mutosexual appears to be a niche LGBTQ+ microlabel coined online in 2020. Unlike broader identity terms that spread through community use, memes, or activism, mutosexual seems to come mainly from MOGAI/LGBTQIA+ wiki culture, where many highly specific orientation labels are documented.
The term comes from the Latin "muto," meaning “change."
