Demiflexible
Demiflexible is an informal term used by people who identify primarily as demisexual but occasionally experience attraction outside of a deep emotional connection. The term is often used by people who feel that other labels do not fully capture their experiences.
Demiflexible is generally considered part of the asexual spectrum (ace spectrum) because it describes a pattern of attraction that is centered around demisexuality. Like other ace-spectrum identities, it recognizes that sexual attraction can occur infrequently, under specific circumstances, or in ways that differ from the experiences of many allosexual people. However, not everyone who uses the term necessarily identifies as asexual.
Origins of the Term
Demiflexible is believed to have been coined on Reddit in 2021. But Google Search data suggests the term may have existed as early as the 2010s.
