Member of a House

A member of a house refers to someone who belongs to a chosen family or structured group within the BDSM, kink, or leather community. A “house” (sometimes called a family, pack, or clan) is typically a collective built around shared values, dynamics, protocols, or mentorship. It is often led by a Dominant, elder, or founding member.

A house may be centered around a Dominant, Master/Mistress, or High Protocol Leader, with members in defined roles (subs, slaves, switches, etc.). Some houses are formal and hierarchical, while others are more like chosen families.
