Hair Bondage
Hair bondage is a form of BDSM restraint that uses the submissive's hair as a bondage point. It blends pain, control, sensuality, and visual beauty into one act. It involves tying or securing the hair with rope, rings, or other restraints to control posture, restrict movement, or enhance submission.
Why People Are Into It
People enjoy hair bondage for many of the same reasons they enjoy bondage in general. But, because hair is attached to your body, it carries some unique elements. These include:
- Psychological Power Play: Hair is deeply personal, which can make hair bondage feel especially intimate.
- Physical Control: Hair bondage is a handy way to restrict movement, especially of the head and neck.
- Sensation: Tight pulling can create a sharp, intense sensation that brings people sharply into the present.
- Humiliation Play: For some, hair pulling can feel degrading or humiliating, especially if the hair is kinked or messy afterwards.
- Forced Service: Hair bondage can keep the head still during "forced" oral sex or other service tasks.
Safety & Consent
Hair tying is relatively safe, but pain and hair loss can occur if certain guidelines are not followed. In general, it's best to use thick strands of hair or full ponytails to avoid pulling hair out. Hair spray can be added to help prevent rope slippage and keep rope in place. It's also best to only pull the hair in one direction. For example, don't pull up on a rope tied down for tension. Finally, suspension by the hair should be avoided except by extremely experienced practitioners.
