An aesthetic exhibitionist experiences self-confidence, satisfaction and excitement from being watched without the need for sexual acts. This differs from a typical exhibitionist, who aims to attract attention to enjoy the sexual or emotional thrill of being seen.

Aesthetics is the study of sensory perception or, more specifically, the branch of philosophy that deals with beauty and art. An aesthetic exhibitionist shows their body as a way to show and revel in its beauty.
