First Girl
A first girl, sometimes called a first slave, is the highest-ranking slave or submissive within a Gorean household or group. The role comes from John Norman’s "Gor" science-fiction novels, which depict highly structured Master/slave societies. It has since been adopted by people who explore Gorean dynamics through real-life consensual relationships, online communities, fantasy, or roleplay. Within these dynamics, a first girl is placed in charge of other slaves and helps manage them on the Master’s behalf.
A first girl may assign duties, train newer slaves, enforce household standards, handle minor disagreements, and pass along the Master’s instructions. Although the slaves under her may address her as Mistress, a first girl is still a slave herself. Her authority is delegated by the Master or Owner and applies only to the people placed under her.
The title does not necessarily mean she is the Master’s favorite, a primary romantic partner, or the longest-serving slave. It usually indicates that she is trusted to supervise others and help maintain order within the household.
Some Goreans consider Gor a philosophy or lifestyle rather than a form of BDSM, although it is widely associated with kink communities. In real-life Gorean relationships, the first girl’s duties and authority depend on the boundaries and agreements established by everyone involved.
