Organizer
In kink and BDSM, an organizer refers to a person who organizes events for the larger community. People often perform this role voluntarily as a way to give back to the community or build the kinds of spaces they wish to see. They can facilitate or host events like munches, play parties, rope jams or other events that help to bring people with similar interests together.
Anyone can be an event organizer, but the role can come with a great deal of responsibility. Depending on the event, the organizer may have to find an event space, handle staffing or other volunteers, be available for questions, and handle any issues that come up before, during, and after an event.
Most organizers have no formal powers beyond what's given to them by attendees. Some may hold power as an owner of a venue. Some may also have authority roles in their community, such as a head of a community council. There are often clear processes in place to manage that power dynamic.
Organizers typically have other help when planning larger events.
