Human Pet
A human pet is usually someone who enjoys being treated as a pet while retaining their human identity. Unlike many forms of traditional pet play, they do not necessarily take on the identity or behavior of a specific animal. Instead, the focus may be on companionship, affection, care, training, obedience, ownership, or the feeling of belonging to an Owner.
What this looks like varies widely. Some human pets enjoy collars, leashes, praise, rules, training, or being cared for in pet-like ways. Others have little interest in animal behavior at all. Or, they may borrow some animal-like mannerisms without identifying as an animal.
For some people, being a human pet is a form of submission or an Owner/property dynamic. For others, it is more of a relationship role or identity and does not necessarily imply submission. The term is also used differently across the kink community, so not everyone draws the same line between human pet play and animal pet play.
