Aftercare Buddy
Aftercare buddy refers to a trusted person who provides aftercare following a BDSM or kink scene, often when they were not the person involved in the scene itself. An aftercare buddy may be a friend, romantic partner, play partner, or other trusted person who has agreed to help someone decompress, manage drop, or transition out of an intense headspace.
Depending on the person’s needs, an aftercare buddy might provide cuddling, conversation, reassurance, food and water, blankets, physical care, or company. Some people arrange an aftercare buddy in advance for parties, demos, solo scenes, or scenes with partners who are unable or not expected to provide aftercare.
An aftercare buddy is often set up in advance of a scene.
