Psychological Masochist

A psychological masochist is someone who derives sexual, emotional, or psychological satisfaction from teasing, denial, embarrassment, anticipation, verbal dominance, power imbalance, mind games, or consensual humiliation. The gratification comes from the headspace, emotional intensity, or psychological pressure, rather than (or in addition to) physical pain.

A psychological masochist tends to:

  • Respond strongly to verbal control, mind-play, or power dynamics.
  • Enjoy anticipation, fear play, or emotional intensity.
  • Seek out humiliation, degradation, or embarrassment in a consensual kink context.
  • Thrive on being challenged mentally or emotionally.
  • Find satisfaction in sacrifice, endurance, or giving up control.
