Sex Geek

A sex geek is someone who holds deep passion and knowledge around sex, BDSM, kink, or all of the above. For a sex geek, geeking out may be as enticing (or more so) than the act itself. They might enjoy talking about or educating others on their favorite kink or activity not because it excites them sexually, but because they have a lot of knowledge around it.

A sex geek is likely to:

• Read books or research about their sexual interests
• Attend workshops or conferences to learn more and meet others like them
• Talk about sexual theory, consent, anatomy, bondage, or whatever kinks they're into
• Value continual learning around their topics of interest

Some sex geeks go on to become sex educators, pleasure activists, or facilitators or leaders in local or online communities.

Not all geeks are kinky, but kinky and geeky communities definitely have overlap in their lack of adherence to social norms. As a result, geeks may be more likely to find an interest in less common expressions of sexuality (like kink!)
