Fuckboy
Fuckboy is a term typically reserved for young men who are arrogant and have sex with people as a way to boost their ego rather than the usual primary goal of having fun or connecting.
A fuckboy is notoriously casual, emotionally disconnected and may have multiple sexual partners with little attachment or respect for them. While people may call themselves fuckboys, it is mostly a derogatory (or even just descriptive) term to refer to others.
Fuckboys are not just those who have a lot of sex, they typically do not respect their partners as equal, participate in cheating, falsely advertise their desires as romance-seeking, or all of the above. Fuckboys may also manipulate or outright lie to get a sexual partner.
Used in a sentence: "He’s giving fuckboy vibes” implies the person mentioned appears to be interested in sex without emotional commitments.
Origins of the Term
The term is said to have been circulating in AAVE (African American Vernacular English) slang before being introduced to a larger audience in 2002 by the rapper Cam'ron in the song "Boy, Boy." The term was an insult, meaning a man who was weak, who was useless. By around 2015, the term had been appropriated from AAVE into the wider population and had taken on the meaning noted above.
