Meatbag
A meatbag is a human being described as little more than a body made of flesh. In kink, the word may be used as a degrading name for a submissive, bottom, or plaything whose body is being restrained, controlled, hurt, or used.
The term is often playful and comes partly from science-fiction portrayals of robots or artificial intelligence referring dismissively to humans as meatbags. It may appear in robot, drone, objectification, dehumanization, sadism, or degradation play.
Some people also use meatbag jokingly to describe themselves or their own body, especially when talking about pain, illness, hormones, aging, or other physical limitations. In established dynamics, it can also become an affectionate nickname or personal title.
Meatbag is not a clearly defined kink role on its own. Its meaning depends on the relationship and context in which it is used.
Origins of the Term
Meatbag as a kink term appears to come mainly from science fiction, where robots and artificial intelligence call humans meatbags to mock their soft, fragile bodies. The robot Bender used the insult in "Futurama," and it later became strongly associated with HK-47, an assassin droid introduced in the 2003 game "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic." HK-47 regularly calls humans and other living beings “meatbags.”
Kink communities appear to have adapted this sci-fi insult because it works well for scenes involving degradation and reducing someone to their physical body. There is no clear record of exactly when it entered kink language.
