Adventurers at Heart
Sailors tend to be an adventurous sort. Some have cruised far and wide, crossing oceans. Some have even circumnavigated the globe. They frequently have tales of their travels to regale you with, as well as photos, videos, and trinkets from places they have been that they love to share.
Tattoos
Many sailors wind up covered in tattoos, their skin becoming a roadmap of the places they have been. Many tattoos carry deep personal significance, and much of today’s tattoo culture is rooted in the legacy of those who once braved the hostile seas on some of history’s greatest adventures.
Uniforms
When it comes to how to dress, sailors seem to fall into four camps:
Traditional Pirate/Wench
Think Johnny Depp and "Pirates of the Caribbean," some sailors dress in period-correct or inspired clothing (sometimes with a steampunk bend). The clothing makes a bold statement and tells all onlookers just exactly who they are!
Traditional Sailor Uniforms
Think your classic U.S. Navy "crackerjacks" or Sailor Moon inspired Japanese sailor uniforms, there are many varieties here.
Mermaids
Mermaids are their own special breed of aquaholics. Many have realistic mermaid tails made of silicone or neoprene that they can actually swim in. For others, it's bathing suits with fish scales printed on them.
Totally Casual
Some sailors go for Hawaiian shirts, bikinis, cargo shorts, whatever suits their fancy and keeps them comfortable - including no clothes at all!
Sailors in Kink
Given the relationship between captain and crew, a boat's power structures naturally form with the captain at the top as they have the legal responsibility for the vessel and all on board.
When sailors are kinky, this can cross from being just shipmates into having actual kink-based relationships aboard the ship. Some vessels operate entirely with kinky crew that are in a D/s or M/s dynamic with the Captain, while others are crewed by kinky people who are strictly platonic with each other and just enjoy sailing with like-minded people.
The other distinct advantage of the sailor's lifestyle is that by virtue of traveling, a sailor has the opportunity to gain more kink skills and knowledge from being offered more opportunities to meet people.
Finally, the environment of a boat lends itself to kinky fun, as a boat has the ability to go anchor out away from society. This can be a great place to party in private. Plus, the insides of boats are usually packed with beds and lots of hand holds. For those who enjoy the other kind of water sports or kink activities that get wet and messy, the boat's cockpit is a great place to do these things as it is easy to clean up.
