Throat Goat
Throat goat is a slang term for someone considered exceptionally skilled or enthusiastic at fellatio, especially deep-throating. The term is usually complimentary or teasing and may be used as a self-description, nickname, or sexual boast.
The term primarily comes from the rhyming slang, with "throat" referring to deep-throating, and "goat" referring to the acronym for "Greatest Of All Time."
The phrase is also sometimes used jokingly outside of sex for someone who can swallow food, drinks, or other objects unusually quickly or deeply.
Origins of the Term Throat Goat
Throat goat appears to be a relatively recent piece of internet sexual slang.
GOAT itself became popular through sports and hip-hop culture during the 1990s and 2000s. Muhammad Ali was famously known as “The Greatest,” and his wife incorporated Greatest of All Time, Inc. (G.O.A.T. Inc.) in 1992. Rapper LL Cool J further popularized the acronym with his 2000 album "G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time)."
One of throat goat’s earliest online appearances as a sexual term was on Urban Dictionary in May 2019, where it referred to someone considered exceptionally good at oral sex. The term was circulating more widely online by 2020.
It gained much greater visibility in late 2021 through the viral “Nancy Reagan throat goat” meme. The meme took off after a December 2021 Twitter exchange surfaced claims that Reagan had a reputation for performing oral sex during her Hollywood years. Social media users jokingly dubbed her the “throat goat,” although posts using the nickname can be traced to at least 2020.
