Supplicant

A supplicant is usually a submissive who approaches their Dominant with deep humility, requesting permission, attention, guidance, or punishment. The term emphasizes reverence, service, and asking for approval, forgiveness, or favor. A supplicant's Dominant is usually referred to as a Deity.

Supplicant is similar to the term "worshipper," which is another submissive counterpart to Deity. However, there are subtle differences in tone between these two roles. While the worshipper tends to offer adoration and praise, the supplicant seeks permission, favor, or forgiveness. While the worshipper serves out of adoration and devotion, the supplicant's service tends to be more humble and pleading.
